This study investigates if small-scale diverse horticultural systems (polycultures) can contribute positively to biodiversity and nature conservation in the wider landscape.  In general, the impact of farming on ‘nature’ is considered to be either negative or, at best, neutral. We are interested in exploring if some types of farming could be a net-positive for biodiversity. To do this we would like to collect simple information from as many polyculture sites as we can (location, size and crops grown) to use in a landscape analysis to test this hypothesis. We would be grateful if you could answer the following questions. If you have any questions for us, please contact barbara.smith@coventry.ac.uk

1.1. In order to comply with GDPR, we are required to obtain permission to use your data and explain how we will use it. Please confirm that you are happy to take part in this study on the basis of the following: 1. The location of your land holding, its size and the land use will be anonymised and used in a landscape analysis to determine whether small scale polyculture farms impact biodiversity in the wider landscape. 2. No data will be publicly associated with your farm. A map of the distribution of farms in the study is likely to be published as a figure. We will check with you before publication that you are happy with your location being marked. Nothing to identify you will be published. 3. You will not be identified in any of our outputs unless you request acknowledgement. 4. No personal data will be shared with anyone for any purpose other than the specific objectives of this study. 5. We will offer the option for you to leave your email so that we can update you on progress. You are not obliged to leave contact details in order to take part. These data will be held on a secure University server and deleted after two years. 5. Your farm data (location, size, cropping) will be kept on file for two years in case we need to revisit the analyses and will be held on a secure University server. It will be deleted after two years. You are free to withdraw from this study and have your data deleted at any time. Required
